About Me

Originally from Tucson, Arizona I spent most of my formative years in the Washington, DC area, where I still reside with my wife Alex and beloved pittie Stella.

As a youngster, I dreamed of becoming a professional baseball player and spent the entirety of my youth chasing this lofty goal. And I made some solid progress too, playing at the Division I level and even notching my first collegiate hit off future MLB All-Star Sonny Gray (though, in all honesty, I got lucky). However, despite a successful amateur career, I just wasn't quite good enough to go pro. Which was unfortunate for many reasons, including my stubborn refusal to prepare for any future that did not include wood bats and catcher's gear.

So, like many former athletes, I stumbled into a career in sales. It certainly wasn't a field that I had imagined myself in—nor was it one I had any particular passion for—but it was something that allowed me to move out of my Mom's house and strike out on my own. Unsurprisingly, my early adulthood was filled with new experiences, reckless decisions, countless mistakes, and many cherished memories.

As the years progressed, something began to shift and I started to dread waking up in the morning. By almost any measure the start to my business career would have been considered a success, but it became harder and harder for me to pretend to care about anything I was doing at work. Each day followed a predictable rhythm and the mind-numbing monotony left me hollow and exhausted.

It was around this time that I started looking for a creative outlet—something to give me purpose and allow me to express myself without worrying about the reactions of clients, prospects, or corporate overlords. Since I'd always had a talent for spinning up entertaining invitations to house parties, I decided to give writing a shot.

The result of that seemingly random choice is my debut novel Everything You Leave Behind, a deeply personal undertaking about a man struggling with feelings of depression, inadequacy, and hopelessness, who is given the opportunity to gain some much needed perspective in an attempt to keep moving forward.

Everything You Leave Behind will hit the shelves on January 27th, 2026 and I expect it to be the first of many novels to come.
